Summer Issue, 1998

    ComputED is a full-service lab for children and adults, serving the San Diego area. Ongoing inservices are offered to classroom teachers and school districts on implementing technology in the classroom, including selecting appropriate educational software.
    Directors of ComputED are Marie A. Karr, MA (pictured above) and Joan P. Yap, MS, educators who specialize in technology.
    ComputED's Educational Software Preview Center is open to the public year-round, allowing previewing of the best children's titles before purchasing at retail outlets.
    The Gazette is a quarterly publication, and is sponsor of three national software awards: The Education Review Awards (EDDIES), the Family Fun Software Awards (FUNNIES) and the Best Children's Educational Software Awards (BESSIES). Winners of the 1998 EDDIES and the 1998 FUNNIES are announced.
