ComputED's BESSIE Awards Now Open For Entries
The ComputED Gazette is now accepting entries for its 16th Annual Best Educational Software Awards (BESSIES). The BESSIES have had the distinction of previously being co-sponsored by the CBS-affiliate in San Diego (KFMB-TV/Channel 8), and serve to recognize innovative, content-rich programs & websites that foster educational growth. The Awards provide parents and teachers with a valuable guide to the best educational software and websites. Winners are awarded a digital BESSIES logo for promotional use, and up to ten winning entries will be showcased in our expanded Reviews section. Electronic announcements reach thousands of subscribers at educational newsgroups and listservs on the Internet. Deadline for receipt of entries is February 19, 2010.
Software publishers and web-content providers are invited to submit entries (see Entry Form) in all academic areas for the following levels/categories:
Early Learning
Early Elementary
Upper Elementary
Middle School
High School/Post Secondary
Educational Websites
Multimedia Creation
Internet Tools and/or Websites
Productivity Tools
Unlimited titles (Windows or Macintosh) and websites are accepted in any/all categories. A single entry fee of $575 is required for up to 3 entries (add $100 for each additional entry). Please send 3 copies of each entry or website information.
Payment options:
1. Checks or money orders--payable to "ComputED". Please mail to ComputED Gazette, 2588 El Camino Real F339, Carlsbad, CA 92008. [NOTE: Checks or money orders not payable through a US bank are subject to a $25 processing fee, which must be included in the amount.]
2. Credit card--accepted only through PayPal.com. Make payable to our account:
editor@computedgazette.com. A $25 processing fee must be added (basic entry fee through PayPal is $600).
