ComputED Learning Lab, San Diego's leading computer education facility for children and adults, is pleased to announce its 6TH ANNUAL BEST EDUCATIONAL SOFTWARE AWARDS (BESSIES) - awards aimed at recognizing innovative and content-rich programs which are appropriate for family purchase on the retail market. The BESSIES have had the distinction of previously being co-sponsored by the CBS-affiliate in San Diego (KFMB-TV/Ch.8). The BESSIES are a gift-giving guide for families, listing the best children's educational software for the holiday season. Press releases go out to news media locally, nationally, and at prominent educational web sites on the Internet, including our own (http://computed.simplenet.com). Deadline for entries is December 3, 1999.
Software publishers are invited to submit entries (see Entry Form) in all academic areas, including (but not limited to) the categories:
- Science
- Math
- Social Studies
- Language Arts/Writing
- Internet Tools and/or Websites
- Foreign Language or ESL
- Interactive Story
- Multimedia Creation
- Classic/Other
Awards are also given for Best of 1999, and Unique. A single entry fee of $325 is required for up to 4 entries (add $50 for each additional entry). Entries are accepted in any/all categories (IBM and/or Macintosh platforms, CD-ROM preferred). Please submit three (3) copies of each title. Winners will receive formal award certificates and official camera-ready logos. Please make checks payable to "ComputED".
All submitted titles will also be included in demonstrations to school districts, teachers, and the public throughout the year in ComputED's Educational Software Preview Center. Clients will be referred to your company for purchases.
ComputED is pleased to be able to offer a public forum for recognizing the most creative educational software publishers in the nation, providing a valuable service to America's families.
